Abstract:

This study seeks to examine the structure of the network of relationships among interest groups within the legislative process of the Chamber of Deputies, focusing on public hearings held in parliamentary committees. To this end, the method employed consists of network analysis and description. It is observed that the network highlighting the participation of actors in public hearings of parliamentary committees has a greater number of civil society entities. However, at the center of this network, there is a predominance of state bodies. Furthermore, the analysis of network representations reveals that the participation of these bodies is more intense than that of other entities. The results show that the legislative environment is increasingly marked by a broad set of inputs generated by social participation and by increasingly strong scrutiny from multiple sectors of government and oversight organizations.
