Abstract:
The expansion of the middle classes in Latin America is associated with an increase in the use of challenging collective action against left populist governments in recent years. In the case of Argentina, the middle classes have conducted a persistent street protest strongly opposed to Cristina Kirchner’s government. Based on a survey in situ to the concurrence of one of the largest demonstrations of this type occurred on
November 8, 2012, this article aims to characterize the social composition of mobilized citizens expressing their discontent and the axes from which define interests, values or frustrated aspirations.
