Abstract:

This publication is part of the Political Reforms in Latin America project, implemented from July 2014 to July 2015 by the Secretariat for Political Affairs—now renamed the Secretariat for Strengthening Democracy of the Organization of American States (OAS)—with the support of the non-profit National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The volume is divided into two parts. The first consists of three chapters that address regional trends. The second part presents national perspectives from five countries: Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Brazil.
