The National Congress’s institutional work is based on a structure of standing committees. Various pressure groups working directly in the decision-making process of the standing committees, exert influence actions to defend the interests of its members. The article compares the features of the theoretical models distributive, informational and partisan with the way of action of pressure groups in Congress. The commitment of the study is to identify which of the three theoretical models best explain those actions. The study concludes that the informational model best explains the exercise of influence of pressure groups in the standing committees of the Chamber of Deputies.
