Levantamento feito pela entidade não governamental Contas Abertas informa que a administração pública federal conta hoje com 616 mil servidores civis, alocados em diversos órgãos, autarquias e fundações. Cerca de 1/5 desses mais de 600 mil funcionários ingressou no funcionalismo público durante as eras Lula e Dilma.  Mais de 130 mil servidores federais entraram no serviço público a partir de 2002.
